I am attempting to render assistance and closure to someone who lost a close relative by accidental death in Vietnam in 1969. Seeking any former or retired CID Agent who might have had a role in the investigation of a grenade explosion on 10 July 1969, at the orientation building, Landing Zone Bayonet, outside Chu Lai, Vietnam. Division arrivals were attending a class on grenades when the Instructor (Sergeant) tossed what he believed to be an inert practice grenade and it detonated, killing three and wounding several dozen others attending the orientation.
