Quick update...just talked with Earl. He had another scan last Wednesday but no results as of yet. He does think he's doing better. He wishes to thank those of you who have made contact in one way or another and asks that you continue the prayers for his recovery. He is home and able to take calls at the number listed on page 13 of the Gold Book.

Visited with Earl at the Care Home today. He looks better and his voice is stronger but he's still in very serious condition. The sign of his having been in a prize fight (smile) is now limited to a small mouse under his right eye. He's scheduled for another in a series of scans at DDEAMC this evening, will return to the Care Home, but expects to be discharged to his own home tomorrow. He mentioned receiving cards from some of you. He appreciates the cards and your prayers. Again, please, contrary to what the Gold Book says, Earl does NOT have email or web access. Snail mail to the address on page 13. Thank you!

Visited with Earl at the care home yesterday. He has serious carotid artery blockages. The blockages affect his blood pressure which no doubt caused the several falls that he experienced at home. The doctors have advised that surgery would be critical and they're reluctant to operate anytime soon if at all. He hit his head when he last fell which resulted in bleeding on the brain. They've done 2 or 3 CT Scans trying to determine the extent of the head injury but haven't really determined where, what and how the blood is coming from. In the meantime, over the past several months, Earl has gone from about 170 pounds down to 130 and seems frail. By the way, he turned 81 on Saturday (16 July). He's in good spirits as always but knows his condition is very serious, and, is appreciative of any and all prayers. Cards to his home address please. Earl's wife visits every day and will take the cards to him.

Earl is seriously ill and in a care home at this time. Doctors have been unable to determine what is causing bleeding on his brain. He looks like he's been in a prize fight. He and his family will be very appreciative of your prayers.
Please send cards to his home address as listed in the Gold Book. Contrary to what is entered in the GB, Earl does NOT have email nor access to the web. He will NOT see your comments on this site. Thanks!
