Andres Reyes Sanchez
November 30, 1921 - November 10, 2013
Andres Reyes Sanchez much beloved, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on November 10th 2013 at the age of 90. He was born on November 30th 1921, in Del Rio, Texas. He graduated from San Felipe High-School in 1940. He married Arabel Josephine Hoak Martinez in 1950.
He served in the US Army from 1941-1966. He was in the WW2 European theater and served as Army CID before, during and after the Korean War. He was instrumental in the successful relationship between the San Blas/Kuna Nation and U.S. He retired from the Army as a Master Sergeant.
As a resident of El Paso, Texas and since 1951 he worked for the El Paso I.S.D. for many years first as a truant officer and later as a bus monitor. He attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He loved his country and family very much.
He is survived by his sons, Andres Sanchez Jr. and Julio Antonio Sanchez; his daughters: Lucy Elena Carlotta Hill, Linda Marie Anne Mellinger, and Josephine Elizabeth Martinez; as well as his 12 grandchildren and 3 great grand-children. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years and son Jose Ricardo Nicolas Sanchez.
Burial was in the Fort Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso, TX with full military honors.
