July 24, 1967 – April 12, 2022

Mr. Shannon Jay Banks, age 54, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.

Mr. Banks was born on July 24, 1967 in Danville, Florida to Mr. Stewart Banks, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Ellen Mimms. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. After he retired from the military, he was a forensic exploitation specialist for the United States Army.

Shannon was preceded in death by his father, Stewart Banks, Sr.; brother. Stewart Banks, Jr.

He is survived by his four children, Chris Banks, Natasha Banks, Terrell Banks, and Kaleb Banks; mother, Mary Banks; brother, Sinatra Banks (Renee'); sister, Sharita Banks; 2 nephews and 2 nieces; special aunt, Betty White; many other family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Shannon Jay Banks will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. at Benson Funeral Home, 309 Hardee Street, Dallas, GA 30132, Phone (770) 445-9494.

Internment will be on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 9:30 A.M. at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

The family will be receiving friends at Benson Funeral Home on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 4 P.M. - 6 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Benson Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Shannon Jay Banks.
