Warren John Schneider
October 17, 1946 - July 1, 2009
Warren John Schneider, age 62, of Route 16, Delevan died July 1, 2009 at his home after a long illness.
Born October 17, 1946 and raised in the Hudson Valley, Warren graduated from Ichabod Crane High School in Kinderhook, NY entering the U. S. Army shortly thereafter.
He served 10 years in the military, entering as a communications specialist, serving in Washington, DC, Hawaii, and Rock Island Arsenell, Davenport, Iowa. He left the Army as a CID agent and was a Vietnam War Veteran.
Working in the automotive business, he ran the body shop and acted as service manager for Century Buick in Kingston, NY.
Moving to Western New York in 1985, he became a school bus driver for Laidlaw in Delevan for the Pioneer School District in combination with doing automotive flea markets in the northeast until taking ill in 2001.
He leaves behind his wife Donna whom he married July 10, 1982 in Kinderhook, NY; 3 children - Daniel (Joannie) Schneider of Belle Plaine, Minn.; Tracey (Troy) Buzzell of Washington, Ill.; and Brad (Melanie) Schneider of Kingston, NY; a brother: Ronald (Sandy) Schneider of Kinderhook, NY; 3 step-children: Kimber'Lee West of Orchard Park; Todd West of Daleville, Alabama and James (Julie) West of South Burlington, VT; a sister-in-law: Betty Schneider of Potscamp, Mississippi; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was an avid toy collector and owner of Big Boy Toys in Delevan. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Kinderhook, NY.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to HomeCare and Hospice or the Delevan Rescue Squad. They were always there when we needed them; or just give someone you love a hug while you can.
