Anne C. Celano

Anne C. Celano, 90, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 22, 2017.

Anne was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Mary (McKenna) and James Donovan. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Anthony J. Celano in 2005. Anne was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Anne is predeceased by three sisters and five brothers.

Anne is survived by her five children and their spouses, Tina A. George and her husband Jim of West Chester, PA, Tony Celano, Jr. and his wife Florence of Pembroke, MA, Jim Celano and his wife Diane of Greensboro, NC, Franny Lemon and her husband Michael of Wilmington, DE and Judy A. Anne loved being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her eyes sparkled at a baby's smile, and she shared their love of pinwheels and bubbles. Big pots of spaghetti and meatballs welcomed family members on Sunday afternoons, and the yearly vacation at Lewes, DE always included Mom Mom whose grandchildren would, in later years, push her toward the bay in a special beach chair.

Irish to the core, Anne celebrated the wearing of the green especially on St. Patrick's Day. Symbols of all things Irish decorated her home, but mostly she carried a love of Ireland and its culture in her heart.
