Ralph Edward Stronoski
Age 89, died February 13, 2015
Ralph Edward Stronoski, 89, chief Navy security officer and Army criminal investigator, died in New York on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015. A resident of Fairfax, Va., since 1965, Mr. Stronoski was born in Kingston.
Mr. Stronoski was a World War II veteran, serving the Army in the European Theater with the 69th and 83rd Infantry Divisions in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany, participating in the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge with battle star. He also participated in the occupation of Germany, Austria, and Korea, and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.
Upon retiring from the Army in 1966, Mr. Stronoski went to work as a physical security officer at the Naval Ship Engineering Center, Hyattsville, Md. He retired in 1986.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Herta Maria Stronoski, on Jan. 25, 1993. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Fort Meyer Chapel, Arlington, Va., with interment at Arlington National Cemetery.
