Windle Eugene Flowers
August 9, 1941 - January 28, 2017

Valley View Texas: Windle Eugene (Gene) Flowers left this earth on January 28, 2017 to be reunited with his wife Judith Marie of 22 years and the mother of his children. Gene was born August 9, 1941 to Hershel and Myrtle Flowers in Sadler, TX.

He grew up in Whitesboro, TX and attended Whitesboro schools. He enlisted in the US Army on August 14, 1958 and retired from there January 31, 1980. After retirement, he worked for the City of Denton (TX) Police Dept., Denton County (TX) Sheriff Dept., and was Security Supervisor for different security companies in Texas and Utah and for the Tooele Army Depot, Tooele, Utah.

He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca (Nolan) Stevenson, Jennifer Flowers, Angela Provolt, son Windle Stacy Flowers, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

He married Carolyn Dean Wheeler December 29, 1961 and divorced shortly after. He then married Judith Marie Newkirk September 30, 1967 who died August 11, 1989, and then married Cheryl Ann Henderson May 24, 1995 and later divorced. He loved his ex-step children and grandchildren like his own until his death. He will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery beside his children's mother.

Visitation for Gene will be from 6-8 Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday also at DeBerry Funeral Directors with Rev. Buddy Owens officiating. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Roselawn Memorial Park.
