Sorry to hear of Ed's passing. He is missed. I am also a Marine who moved over to the Army and CID. Meeting Chesty Puller probably would have left me speechless, too. Semper Fi!, Ed.

Ed Nicholls funeral was attended by many family and friends. He will be missed. As Padre mentioned Ed was a SSG in the USMC prior to joining CID. One of his favorite memories was being a DI at the Marine Recruit Depot in San Diego. During one Ceremony they were reviewed by General "Chesty" Puller of WWII fame. Ed said that the General was shaking each of their hands and when he stepped in front of him and asked a question that he (Ed) was speechless. Ed said the General was very kind and said that was okay and continued his review of the Marines. RIP

Received word that CW2 Ed Nicholls had passed away last week while in hospice care. Funeral will be at the Ft Sam Houston Cemetery @1045 Hrs, 15 Sep 2016. Ed was a USMC CID SSG when entering the Army CID and had served on the LAPD. RIP, Old Friend.
