Don was my SAC in Heilbron Germany and I had not heard from him since my retirement in 1979 until about two years ago. We exchanged Christmas cards and this year I heard from Sharon breaking the news to me. I truly wanted to visit him in Galesburg but like other things, I let it go too long and now look what has happened. RIP my good friend.

I just found from Don's wife Sharon that he had passed away in June. Don and I had exchanged Christmas cards every year since I retired in 1995. I had stopped and visited him in 1995 on my way to Ft Campbell to outprocess for retirement. I served on his DST at Ft Riley during 1980-1981. everything I learned about undercover drug operations and drug investigation; I learned from Don. He was more of a coach than a team chief. They don't make many like Don. I have got to check this site more often. I would have attended his funeral. That is how much I respected him.
