I also worked with Peggy and Janos in K-Town in the early 70's. Enjoyed working with both. So sorry to hear of Peggy's passing. May she rest in peace.

We went through CID Basic together along with her sweetheart Janos who she lost when he was so young. They were a loving couple who are now reunited in The Lord. God Bless her, she will be missed.

Very sorry to hear of Peggy's passing. I worked with her briefly in Kaiserslautern in 1971...she and Janos were among the best. RIP

Mrs. Peggy N. Szmolka, age 75, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. She was born September 10, 1938 in Camden, South Carolina to Ernest Banks and Ruby Hancock Banks. Mrs. Szmolka was a resident of Santa Rosa Beach for 15 years moving from Biloxi, Mississippi. She was Christian by faith and retired from the United States Army as a Warrant Officer. Mrs. Szmolka is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Janos Szmolka, one brother Ernest Banks, Jr., and one sister Patsy Olerud. Mrs. Szmolka is survived by two brothers William Banks and wife Jan of Idaho, Tex Banks of South Carolina, two sisters Brenda Rohman of North Carolina and Patricia McKinney. Memorialization will be by cremation. Interment to follow at the National Cemetery in Biloxi, Mississippi at a later date.
