David A. Werfel, formerly of Eastlake, OH, age 59, on Friday, November 22, 2013. Preceded in death by his mother, Gloria (Heinton) Werfel, his father, Gerald Werfel, and his brother, Kenneth Werfel. He is survived by his daughters, Renee (Lucas) Angil and Heather (Keith) Fletcher; his grandchildren, Tyler Werfel, David Angil, Brayden Fletcher, Madelyn Angil, and Rayanne Fletcher; his sister, Debra Kaleal; and his nieces, Jessica Yates, Jena Manson, and Jillian Kaleal. David joined the Army in 1972 and retired in 1993 as a CW3. He spent his career as a military police officer, ending it as a CID agent. He enjoyed fishing and was a skilled handyman. He was also a Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS, 412-531-4000. Friends are welcome at 2630 West Liberty Avenue, Dormont, 15216 on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at noon. Inurnment with full military honors will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, donations in honor of David Werfel be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, 301 Grant Street, Suite 900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 or www.woundedwarriorproject.org.

Robert W Busby Posted this on the US Army CID Group Face Book: "Saw a post yesterday indicating Retired CW3 David A. Werfel passed away about 9:30 PM Friday night November 22, 2013 at VA hospital. A check of his daughters face book site (Renee Angil ) found this note “Our fathers memorial service is on December 6th from 10-12 in Dormont, PA at Beinhauer funeral home. Following the memorial, we will head to The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies for a proper military burial. Honor Guard will be there as well. That is at 1pm.”
