I knew Mr. Andre (Flip) Feher very well. I called him my Rabbi more than a few times. He was the best. I know he mentored many and they were better agents because of him.

Gentlemen, I made a "Memorial Book" in honor of my dear friends, Flip and Steffi, using each of your entries as made on this thread. In reply, Steffi has sent the following note which she asked me to post since she doesn't have a computer.

"Dear Mickey! Heartfelt thanks and gratitude for the "Memorial Book". I can see lots of love and work went into the preparation of the book. I'm sure Flip is smiling down at all those Investigators that shared their thoughts and probably smiling with affection at the love and tribute shown, not only to him, but also to me. God bless all of you, Steffi Feher"

Rest in peace Chief. Met him several times but did not know him well enough to call him "Flip". My condolences to Steffie and all his family.

Mr. Andre C. R. Feher may have left us here on earth but he will not be forgotten for those of us who were permitted to call him Flip. When we hear the name Flip we will always be called back to the times that each of us had in his presence. I first met Flip when he joined the IG team as my travelling partner. I called him Mr. Feher to death and he pulled me aside and told me to knock of the s... of Mr. Feher and call him Flip. Of course he became Flip to me. During the times we travelled around the world, I saw him in his most kind and gentle way ask agents who gave them permission to call him Flip if they happened to make that mistake. Flip came on as a rough and tough individual but he had a heart of gold. Rest in peace Flip and we will one day see you once again in heaven.

Another CID legend has passed on to the Big Field Office in the sky. I still remember his IG inspection of my evidence room at the Netherlands RA (with probably 10 items)followed by our search for double zalt licorice only found in Holland. It was his favorite.

God Bless you Flip. You will always be an inspiration to those of the CID family. It was always a pleasure to work for you because you knew you had someone who cared for his agents watching your back. You will be missed.

Myrna and I attended the Mass of Christian burial for Flip. Steffi was accompanied by BG Theodore S. Kanamine and his wife Mary. There were about 100 people in attendance which included the Knights of Columbus Honor Guard. The funeral procession was escorted by 2 motorcycle officers to the Queen of Peace Cemetery, where a U.S. Army Honor Guard rendered Military Honors. The U.S. Flag was presented to Steffi. The Chaplain (a Vietnam veteran) offered words of comfort to Steffi and presented her a Bible. Flip was then entombed and moments of silence were observed. General Kanamine took photos and will coordinate with the Retired MP Officers Association.

A soldier, leader, mentor, friend, father figure. That is how I remember Flip. He was my Ops at the 4th MP Det (CI) Ft Myer, VA., 1970-71 when I was NCOIC of PMI waiting for CID App to be approved, and my first Ops as an Apprentice CID SA. A soldier, a leader, a mentor, a friend and a father figure to those who knew and loved him!!
Flip is probably already making a roll call, putting together a duty roster, organizing those fallen Agents before him. Rest in Peace dear friend -- you've earned it. Thank you once again for all you have done for me, and us!!!

I worked for Mr Feher at Ft Myer and then we both went to Thailand. HE always treated me well and we have exchanged Christmas cards for many years. I always looked forward to going to the mail box around the middle of December to get his card and letter. I will miss him and pray that God will take care of him and Mrs. Feher. I spoke with Mrs Feher yesterday and she was so very sad. They have been married for 58 years. Rest in peace Chief and thank you for all your guidance and kindness..

I remember Flip when he was in the IG team. As a young Agent called me into the office once to explain an ROI that apparently wasn't clear. I was sure he would bite my head off, but after my explanation, he simply said in a "fatherly" way. "Good work son." What a guy. God bless.

CW4 (ret) Andre C R (Flip) Feher died early this morning 22 July 2010. CWO Feher was well known among the older MP Officers and within CID. He was a great supporter of the MP Corps and CID. He is survived by his wife Steffie. He will be missed by all who knew him.
