COL (ret) Arthur M FRIEDMAN passed away on Friday 27 November 2009 at the Medical Center in Enterprise, AL. A graveside service will be held on Saturday 12 December at 1100 hrs, at Meadowlawn Cemetery, Enterprise, AL. The family will receive friends from 5:PM to 7:PM, 11 December at Searcy Funeral Home, in Enterprise. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Campaign or to Disabled American Veterans. Colonel FRIEDMAN was born on 2 December 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, to Albert FRIEDMAN and Mynne Karp FRIEDMAN. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire and went on to receive a Masters Degree from Troy University. Colonel FRIEDMAN dedicated 30 years of his life in service to his country, in the US Army Military Police Corps, which included tours in Korea, Europe and Vietnam. He and his wife, Judy, retired in Alexandria, VA, then later moved to Enterprise, to be closer to their family. Judy Friedman passed away on 9 November 2009. Arthur Friedman, known as "Poppy" to everyone who loved him, was a devoted husband, loving father and a doting grandfather. He loved the New York Yankees, the Washington Redskins, playing golf with his friends and spending time with his family. Searcy Funeral Home (334-393-2273) is in charge of arrangements.
