MAJ (ret) John W Haskell who commanded the 545th MP Company during the end of the Korean War from 1950 until 1951 passed away on 9 October 2009 at Daytona, FL. MAJ Haskell served as an enlisted man in the old MP Platoon, HQS Troop, 1st Cavalry Division prior to attending OCS and was fortunate enough to be reassigned to the 545th MP Company as a Lieutenant. MAJ Haskell served as Company Operations Officer at Camp Drake, Japan prior to the Korean War and when CPT Mehl rotated back to the States assumed command of the company. MAJ Haskell was born 24 August 1921.
