I knew then Major Kierstead in MDW o/a 1968 at the 4th CID, Ft. Myer, VA. He was a great CO and always backed us CID folks. He's earned a "Rest in Peace" based upon my short time serving with and under his command. But, his reputation as a dear friend of CID remained throughout his service!
