Donald Dean Tracy of Victorville, CA passed away at his home on Saturday, 24 September 2011. Donald was born in Decatur, IL on 17 October 1942. He was the son of the late Leslie F Tracy. He is survived by his mother Wanda Tracy of Austin, TX; his beloved wife Mickie; his devoted children, Carrena Barrera and her husband Joseph of Galt, CA, Steven Tracy and his wife Josette of Highland, CA, four grandchildren, two sisters, and several nieces and and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Scott Tracy.
Don was a man of many talents, but his first love was for law enforcement. After graduating from Belmont High School in 1960 he joined the military. He served our country for over ten years. After eight years of active duty he joined the LAPD while still being an active reservist in the Army CID. He was a peace officer, director of security for a government defense plant, and a licensed private investigator. Years before Dog the Bounty Hunter an article in the Los Angeles Times was written about Don titled "Bounty Hunters Ride Again". Don was a cowboy at heart. He wrote cowboy poetry and was a published poet. His final resting place will be at Riverside National Cemetery.
