Miller M Mortimer, 82, died Tuesday 4 March 2008 in the Cleveland Clinic, Franklin, PA. He was a son of Joseph Edward and Marion Belle Manson Mortimer. He was a graduate of Franklin High School and attended Youngstown College. Mr Mortimer served in the U S Army during World War II. He retired from the Army Reserves. He also worked and retired from 38 years service with the U S Postal Service. He was a member of the CID Agents Association, the First United Methodist Church, Uniontown Heights Sunday school, Franklin Elks Lodge, Franklin Kiwanis Club, Myrtle Lodge No 316, F & A M, and the Erie Shrine. Mr Mortimer was an active member of the community and served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and for the DeBence Antique Music World. He enjoyed golfing and enjoyed playing with the Silver Coronet Band. Among the survivors are his wife, Grace Sutherland Mortimer, whom he married on 25 June 1949; two sons, Joseph William Mortimer and wife, Tina, of Canfield, OH; and Carl Sutherland Mortimer of Gibsonia, PA. The Huff Chapel, 312 W Park St, Franklin, PA was in charge. Funeral services were held in the funeral home with the Rev Richard K Harry, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, and the Rev John Sass Jr officiating. Interment followed in Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville. The family suggests memorial donations be made to a charity of one's choice.
