Mrs Imiko "June" Madokoro, 88, passed away on 12 April in Alameda, California. She had been in poor health for about four years. June is the wife of LTC (Ret) Shigeshi "Shug" Madokoro. She is survived by her husband Shug who will be 94 on 1 July and by a son Glenn who is a medical doctor in Newport Beach, CA.
As a special footnote, an interesting two page article about Mrs Madokoro entitled "A Wife's Introduction to Military Life" was published in the May 2005 Issue of the CIDAA Newsletter (Vol MMV, Nr 2). The article is about her experiences as one of the very early military dependents who relocated to Japan after WW II. The article, by Herb Marlow, is an accompanying piece to one of Herb's popular series "Someone You Should Know" about LTC (Ret) Shug Madokoro.
