CWO Michael P Cummings was inducted into the Army as a Military Policeman in August 1942 during WWII. His duties following entry and assignment in Europe consisted of transporting POWs. He attended CI Course #31 at Camp Bullis, Texas, in June 1945. Following graduation, he was stationed in the Provost Marshal Section at Ft Douglas, Utah until July 1950. Later assignments took him to the 23d CID in Tokyo, Japan; Camp Pickett, VA; and Schofield Barracks, HI. He was an instructor in the CI Committee, PMG School, Ft Gordon from September 1959 to November 1961. He retired out of the 88th CID, Ft Gordon, in November 1962. His wife, Betty Lu, predeceased him in March 1990.

In a quick follow up with the only information available at this time, Mr Cummings was 88 years young. He is survived by a daughter, Kathleen.

CWO (retired) Michael P Cummings, long time member of the CIDAA, passed away at his home in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on 24 February 2008.
