SP7 (Ret) Paul Eugene Singletary, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Monday 25 April 2011 after a long illness. He was born in Bradley Junction, Florida on 14 September 1929, to Calvin and Bertha Singletary, one of 11 children. Paul entered the US Army at 16 years of age and served as a Military Policeman at the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials. He served in Germany, France, Korea and the Pentagon and retired from the service in 1966 as a Senior Criminal Investigator, US Army CID Command. Upon retirement Paul accepted employment with a Department of Defense Contractor supporting the US military forces in Indo-China during the Vietnamese War where he remained for 8 years. He met his beautiful bride in Saigon, where she was employed with the US Embassy. They married in 1968 and a son and daughter were born of this union. In 1974 Paul accepted a position with Tesero Petroleum Corporation in Indonesia where he served as Services Manager for their oil exploration and production on the island of Borneo. In 1978 Paul and his family returned to the United States and settled in Houston where they continued to engage in commercial retail development. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Candy. He is also survived by his son, Michael and wife Dr Holly Singletary, who are expecting their first daughter; his daughter, Carol and grandson Isreal Singletary. He is further survived by his sister, Marjorie Teel of New Jersey; sisters, Gloria Mcintosh and Cynthia May of Tampa, Florida; brothers, Charles and John David of Florida. Paul was a member of St Matthew the Evangelist Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM on Wednesday 27 April 2011 at Brookside Funeral Home Cypress Creek, 9149 Highway 6 North in Houston. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Thursday, 28 April 2011 in chapel of Our Lady of LaVang Catholic Church, 12400 Old Foltin Road in Houston. Rite of Committal will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to St Matthew the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9915 Hollister Drive, Houston, TX 77040.

SP7 Paul E Singletary passed away on 24 April 2011. Paul was a member of the 793d MP Battalion in the mid 1940s. He later retired as a CID Special Agent. He is a former member of the CIDAA. More information will be posted if and when it becomes available.
