And an added Merry Christmas to you all, also.
On this day, fifty years ago, a bunch of us from the 19th CID in Uijongbu, drove up to the DMZ, at the invitation of some European peacekeeping observers there. It was a spooky drive closer to that area, but the day was very informative and interesting. We got to enjoy some warm Christmas mulled wine with our hosts.
Christmas of 1972 was our last one in Viet Nam. No mulled wine, but extra thick slices of bologna, and beverages for an appropriate toast to Jane. The Christmases in Germany and Belgium were more festive.
Bless our troops, especially those serving in harms way, and comfort their families in their absence. Here's wishing you all a healthy and Happy New Year in 2015!
